Here is Part 1 of an excellent time capsule of the five Field Communications family of independent television stations. Field Communications was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Field Enterprises - which at one time owned the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. Chock full of vintage station id's, bumpers, slides, logos, jingles, promos, you name it!

This presentation includes: ratings and audience share summaries, mention of Field Spot Sales joining forces with The Katz Agency to form ITVS (Independent TV Sales), a shot of Marina City, mention of a partnership with Kaiser Broadcasting Company, mention of the various programs carried on the stations including M*A*S*H, Happy Days Again, Sanford and Son, All in the Family, and PM Magazine, mention of the Eight O'Clock Movie, Sunday Big Movie, INN - Independent Network News, the Sports Schedule, the various independently produced Field Kids programs and segments such as Snipets, Way to Go, Hooray for Reading, Loeki De Leeuw (Loeki the Lion) bumper segments, and Doctor Snuggles - spearheaded by the PDG - Program Development Group.

Part 2 mentions Battlestar Galactica movies, as well as the program schedules for the upcoming 1980-1981 season. The comedy-variety show Don Lane is mentioned, Best of Groucho, Wonder Woman, Good Times, Love American Style, Wayne & Schuster, Jacques Cousteau, David Wolper Presents, Night Gallery, The Odd Couple, Solid Gold, Hollywood Squares, Prisoner: Cell Block H, as well as Newscene with Kathy McFarland A TK-760 camera makes an appearance too. This presentation was produced by Alan Babbitt - special thanks to him for allowing me to preserve this old forgotten tape to DVD! :-)

If you were part of this tape or these stations back then, please drop me a line! I'd love to hear from you!
