Here's a rare Station ID and slide from WREX Channel 13. Serving Juda, Wisconsin from Rockford, ILL.

Voiceover by Vince Danca. He was the weatherman at the station for many years.

This aired on local Rockford, IL TV on Monday, January 9th 1978 at a little before 8pm! (not Chicago, but close enough)

Here's Part 4 (the last part) of an episode of the Hot Fudge Show - which was produced in Detroit but also aired all over the country, including Chicago on WFLD, WSNS, and WLS, at various times during the 70's and early 80's.

This last segment features another Write-On! with the Groucho Marx type puppet and Seymour, The Mitts featuring Seymour and another puppet at the piano, and Arte Johnson and Seymour doing a final banter before the ending credits.

Ok, it's not THAT Channel 9, but thought it looked cool anyway - these people must have had an early cable system here that picked this up. It's an animated station ID for WOR Channel 9 in New York.

Here's a saucy commercial for WBMX - "Progressive" FM 103.

The call letters WBMX (standing for Black Music EXperience), were originally assigned to 102.7 on the FM dial in Oak Park/Chicago Illinois from 1973 to 1988. (That station frequency is now home to R&B station WVAZ - better known as V-103). In 1991, the call letters WBMX were assigned to 98.5 on the FM dial in the Boston area.

WVTV Channel 18 [Milwaukee, WI] - "Partial EBS Test" (1980)

Here's a partial test of the Emergency Broadcasting System on an unknown station in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. The person was recording some Woody Woodpecker cartoons and although they cut out the commercials they did decide to record most of the EBS test. It's pretty simple, consisting only of a single, rather discolored slide.

Did they have to traumatize kids by airing these tests during cartoons? It seems like they did the same thing in Chicago too from what I recall....
