Here is a promo for "Lunch With Ho-Ho" on KOCO-TV Channel 5 in Oklahoma City. This was a children's program featuring HoHo the Clown (played by Ed Birchall) and Pokey the Puppet (played by Bill Howard, the station's long-time stage manager wearing a sock-puppet on his arm). (we also see Jeanie the Dog here)

From the clapboard (held by Bill Howard) we can see that this promo was recorded on Wednesday, August 11th 1965. The Director was "Thrash" (Bill Thrash (originally Carrol...

WREX Channel 13 - "The Circus" (Take 2, 1969)

Here's another take of an (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL. (Not sure if this ever ran on or was intended to run on WCIU Channel 26 or not.)

This came from the other Quad tape that I found in Jack Mulqueen's basement recently. (Recorded in low band, according to the slate at the opening of this clip - as accompanied by an 800 Hz tone).

I was hoping this tape might have contained an...

Here's a commercial break for the ABC Network's airing of the Michigan State vs. Iowa NCAA college football game at Iowa Stadium in Iowa City (part of the Regional Big 10 Battle), with a commercial (which, in those days, was one minute long) for Sunoco - "Stop at Sunoco . . . Go With Confidence."

At the time of this, the only commercial break that was left intact on this recording ( :-( ) which was made on 2" Quad tape at WLS Channel 7, the Michigan State Spartans were leadin...

WTVT Channel 13 - Pulse Featuring Jim Ruddle (Part 3, 1964)

Here's Part 3 of a rare edition of the nightly Pulse newscast from WTVT Channel 13 in Tampa / St. Petersburg, Florida, transferred from the original 2" quad videotape. This was notable in featuring future Chicago TV legend Jim Ruddle anchoring out of St. Petersburg at various points. This part features Hugh Smith in Tampa. Includes:

- A squabble over wrecker service rates to spill over to City Council hearing this week; Motor Club President Ridgley Jones is interviewe...

WAVE Channel 3 - Celebrity Sweepstakes (Opening, 1975)

Here's the first 2 minutes and 20 seconds or so of an episode of the game show "Celebrity Sweepstakes" as aired on WAVE-TV Channel 3 in Louisville, Kentucky. Only a couple episodes of this show still exist apparently, so it's likely this is the only existing clip of this episode, which featured celebrities Darren McGavin, Jim Nabors, Dan Rowan, Betty White and regulars Joey Bishop and Carol Wayne. Jim McKrell was the host of this daytime game show.

Features a recap of the Sha...

This syndicated kids program had aired in that time slot once a month starting in October 1975 and through August 10th 1976.

WFLD Channel 32 - The Honeymooners (Bumper #1, 1979)

Here's a rare bumper for The Honeymooners on WFLD Channel 32, with the station's "zooming text" in sunburst orange type, a (what looks to be) a hand-colored art-card.

The rendition of the famed August 1955 photo (taken outside the area around New York's Carnegie Hall) features co-stars Jackie Gleason, Audrey Meadows and Art Carney inside GMC "Old Look" bus #2969 (model #TDH-4509, built for New York City Omnibus Corp. in November - December 1950 [information courtesy of t...

Here's the third and final take of a (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL.

WBKB Channel 7 - News - "Local Kennedy Assassination Coverage" (1963)

Here's a really rare clip - some local coverage of the JFK assassination on WBKB Channel 7 (which later became WLS Channel 7). This is from the day after the event, when they were still trying to connect the dots. (although I am amazed at how much they have already tracked down, including Oswald's alias and where he bought the gun - Klein's Sporting Goods Company (!) at 227 West Washington Street in Chicago - owned by Mr. Milton Klein) (no relation) ;-)

Features Frank Reynol...
