WLS Channel 7 - Sunday Night Movie - "To Trap A Spy" (Brief Bumper Excerpts, 1978)
Here are some very brief opening, ending, and bumper excerpts from the Sunday Night Movie airing of "To Trap A Spy" on WLS Channel 7 that I edited together. We can see it uses the same swirling-star motif as used on the 3:30 Movie and Late Night Movie shows of the period, but this one has a different title that can be briefly glimpsed at t...

Here's the opening and "Sponsored by..." tag for "The Bad News Bears" - a relatively short-lived TV series (23 episodes) based on the movies. On this night, Episode #3 aired, "Nakedness is Next to Godliness". (Wikipedia has the wrong one listed for this night)
The show starred several people who would later become better known, including Corey Feldman, Meeno Peluce (of Voyagers! fame), and Tricia Cast (the sister in It's Your Move and other roles).

Here's a commercial for the amusement park Old Chicago featuring "Monster of the Midway Testimonials" from Dracula, the Wolfman and Frankenstein's Monster. This was to promote their ride called Monster of the Midway.
As a bonus, here's a neat on-set picture taken during the filming of this commercial, featuring local actor Stan Adams as Frankenstein's Monster...

With all the Betty White mania going on lately, I thought we'd like to see the opening for the short-lived Betty White Show. This episode was "We're Not Divorced (Part II)". Includes:
WBBM-TV animated ID (with voiceover promo for The Jefferson Awards by Jerry Harper)
"Last Week on The Betty White Show"
Opening credits for "The Betty White Show"
Sponsorship tag - "The Betty White Show - Sponsored by Tide" (voiceover by ??)

WTTW Channel 11 - Doctor Who - "The Hand Of Fear : Part 4" (Ending, 1980)

Doctor Who on a Thursday at 10pm? Here's something cool for you Who fans - one of the earliest yet discovered Doctor Who excerpts from WTTW Channel 11. I give you the ending for Part 4 of "The Hand of Fear".
This was back when they aired the episodes as they did in England; in half-hour installments, before Marty Robinson got the brilliant idea of editing all the parts in a story together and putting it on Sunday evenings.
Also notice the addition of the "Int...

Here is Commercial Break #1 (Nothing of note in the opening) of The Best of Groucho - You Bet Your Life on WFLD Channel 32. (In Black and White, unfortunately) Includes:

Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise - The Best
WFLD Advertising Sales TV Starter Kit featuring Walt Bodkin - Sales Manager at WFLD (I wonder where he is now?)...
Fox Valley Center - "Follow the Fox" (Commercial, 1975)

Here's an early commercial (possibly the first?) for Fox Valley Center in Aurora (which had just opened in 1975), featuring an animated fox as he hides behind a tree, snacks at a table and emerges with various items, with an admonition to "just follow the Fox." WTTW Channel 11 - Movie Eleven - "Dr. Who" (Opening, 1976)
Views: 5323 Here is some amazing, ancient footage that really has no business existing.
Fox Valley Center is now known as just Fox Valley Mall, and was formerly Westfield Fox Valley.
Two later commercials for this mall, both from 1983, can be found
;-)
Finally the "classic" Movie Eleven opening from the 70's, complete. Prior to this the only footage I found was a brief snippet of the title card. This was a unique night because they were showing a 4 part episode of Dr. Who, "The Claws of Axos". The showed the episodes back-to-back with a brief intermission between ...

Here is a bumper for the When Movies Were Movies presentation of the Marx Brothers classic "A Night at the Opera" on WGN Channel 9.
Notice the artwork of the studio lights is the same as in the other example.
The bumper music is from another portion of the instrumental
