Here's Part 8 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features John Callaway, Karen Lee Copeland, Warner Saunders, Scott Craig, and Essee Kupcinet, with a clip of Bert Convy.

Ms. Copeland won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for a Special Event Program" [6] as producer of NBC Salutes Chic Chicago on WMAQ Channel 5. A clip from this program, which demonstrated the latest fashions in the Windy City, is then shown.

Mr. Craig, Mrs. Kupcinet and Jim Coursen (the last-named of whom did not attend) won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Entertainment Programs: For a Single Program" [7(A)] for their co-producing of The 1977 Joseph Jefferson Awards on WBBM Channel 2. At one point "Mrs. Kup" thanked Bob Wussler who is then shown among the audience. A clip from this special, which was hosted by the late Bert Convy (of Tattletales fame) and also featured Marlo Thomas and Theodore Bikel, is then shown. (Ironically, those awards, which honored the best of the Chicago theatre, also emanated from the Drury Lane Theatre where the 1978 Chicago Emmys were held.)

Commercial: Chicagoland Oldsmobile Dealers - "The Gallant Men of Olds" (second airing of young couple looking for new car)

Commercial: True Value Hardware Stores - bargains on True Value compressed air sprayer, Nelson sprinkler, and Black & Decker 18" electric rotary lawn mower (voiceover by Pat Summerall)

Commercial: Ken-L Ration Tender Chunks Dog Food - preferred by dogs 3 to 1 - "It's a Far Cry from Dry"

Commercial: Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips - Chicken & Chips - "No Bones About It"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
