NOTE: The font used for the "WGN-TV Channel 9" part of the graphic mentioning the Bulls vs. Bullets went by a host of different names over the years including Doric Italic and Washington. A British-based blog, 'Kecske Bak', has given details on this typeface, including its significance as far as its use on BBC Television (especially its logo as in place from the early 1960's into the later 1980's), in this piece: "Washington Post." The other fonts in this early Chiron (before its spelling was changed to Chyron) CG system (which was in place at WGN at least as early as 1975) were Helvetica Medium and News Gothic Bold.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, February 28th 1979 during the 6:59pm to 7:04pm timeframe.
