Image Factory - "Demo" (1980?)

Here's a demo reel for Image Factory, Inc., a New York-based graphics and production firm.

This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.

Includes:

- Promo for WPLJ 95.5 FM in New York (sister station to the many times once-and-present WLS-FM 94.7, and a rock station from 1971 to 1983 which provided competition to Metromedia-owned WNEW-FM 102.7; since 1983 WPLJ has been a Top 40 station; the music here is an adaptation of "My Sweetheart" by Focus which was the music used for WPLJ promos in the mid-to-late '70's)

- Another promo for WPLJ 95.5 - "WPLJ Rocks" (with the aforementioned Focus track "My Sweetheart" as the background music) (voiceover by Pat St. John, who was a disc jockey at WPLJ from 1973 to 1988)

- Opening for The Late Movie (used by KXTV Channel 10 in Sacramento - Stockton, CA) with a trailer for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (voiceover by ??) sandwiched in-between

- Opening for The 3:30 Movie (used in the late 1970's and early '80's by KXTV) with a scene from the original 1933 version of "King Kong"

- Opening for Science Fiction Spectacular (which station would have used this?)

- Station ID for KHOU Channel 11 in Houston - Galveston, TX

- Station ID for WANE Channel 15 in Fort Wayne, IN

- Opening for CBS's Campaign '78 coverage

- Bumper for America Votes: 1980

- Station ID / promo for WCVB Channel 5 in Boston, MA (sister station to WFLD Channel 32 from 1983 to 1986) - "Channel 5 and You"

- Another "Channel 5 and You" ID from WCVB

- "Weekdays" for promos

- "Another Great Week" for promos

- Opening for The Maryland State Lottery Show (which aired on WBAL Channel 11 in Baltimore, MD)

- "Take a Look" ID for WTSP Channel 10 in Tampa - St. Petersburg, FL

- Another ID for WTSP (which shows city of license as Largo)

- Opening for Sunday Big Movie (used by WFLD itself in the early-80s), with a trailer for an early episode of M*A*S*H (with voiceover by Norm Stevens, indicating it had been cribbed from The CBS Late Movie) sandwiched in-between

- "Take a Look" promo for WTSP (with trailer for "Jackson County Jail" from one of CBS's movie shows - voiceover by Alan Berns)

- Yet another WTSP ID

This obviously was never aired, but it was produced in or around 1980.
