Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.
This transitional segment is from Show #59 (according to the clapboard). However, there is no recording date.
This segment is devoted to Svengoolie's "Poem o...

Here's Part Four of the movie "Mad" on WCFC-TV Channel 38 - our religious station in Chicago - during the program "Liberty Temple Full Gospel News". This feels like something that should be part of the Found Footage Festival.
It ends with a "To Be Continued..." which alas was at the end of the recording, so we are left without a conclusion. :-(

WWJ Channel 4 - "Partial Station Sign-Off" (1978)

At the end of a tape, after a recording of a movie ended, there was a bit of a previous recording that was taped over. We see most of the National Anthem, then some strange black and white bars, and then static. In the static you can hear bleeding through what perhaps was on another channel at the same time (during the static the tape kept speeding up which is why the audio races at times)
RetroNewfoundland (Vintage Canada) was enterprising enough to slow down the audio heard a...

WFLD Channel 32 - CNN News Headlines With Kathy McFarland (1983)
Here are two News Headlines segments (with slight variations) featuring Kathy McFarland on WFLD Channel 32. These previews for the news appeared at two different times during the airing of the 7 O'Clock movie that night. The top story was Mayor Jane Byrne conceding the Democratic primary to Harold Washington.
By 1983 WFLD had dropped the "Newscene" moniker, and went with the generic "News Headlines". It also stopped being listed as a separate program airing at 9:55pm. Stran...

Here's the opening of the Family Classics presentation of Captain Blood (1935) on WGN Channel 9. Hosted by Frazier Thomas. WGN Channel 9 - "Lottery Trainwreck" (1988)
Views: 2588 Here's an interesting clip - the Illinois Lottery drawing on WGN Channel 9 where on this particular night, the balls did not drop into the mixing chamber for the "Cash 5" game and the winning numbers had to be selected off camera and given via an on-screen scroll about 20 minutes later, during the 7 O'Clock Movie airing of "Vertigo".
(opening starts a tiny bit late)
The theme music sounds warbly - I wonder if that was a technical problem at WGN or something with this tape recording. I do not hear the warble after the music ends - can anyone tell?
The
