The Underdog Show (Syndicated Version - Closing Credits)

Some of my earliest WFLD Channel 32 memories were watching Underdog when it used to be on around 12 noon. I think I watched this after I came home from the half day of kindergarten or whatever it was.

Those cliffhanger endings were so thrilling to a small kid!

I also loved Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley!

Toy Gallery (Commercial #2, 1975?)

Here's another almost identical commercial for the Toy Gallery, a local business at 1825 North Lincoln that advertised on WSNS Channel 44's Popeye with Steve Hart.

This ad [which comes after a brief CG slate marked "VTR: 586 - Cut: 2 - Toy Gallery (CM :30) - M.T./D.M." - the M.T. standing for director Mike Torchia; not sure what the D.M. is] has the exact same shots (and music and voice effects) as the other variation, except this has no explanatory voiceover.

Way to Go (Part 1, 1980)

Here is Part 1 of a long-forgotten Field Communications produced program for kids called Way to Go. This episode (which may infact be the first one) is from 1980. Peter Kastner is the host.

I am pretty sure this was produced at the Field station KBHK-TV Channel 44 in San Francisco.

This program aired on WFLD Channel 32 in Chicago on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in July of 1981 (Thanks, smctopia!) and may have aired at other times too.

Not sure if thi...

WFLD Channel 32 - Lunchtime Fun - "The Monkees" (Ending, 1982)

Here's the ending for the Lunchtime Fun presentation of The Monkees on WFLD Channel 32.

No voiceover, but thought I'd include it anyway. There is a snippet of the Lunchtime Fun graphics at the end before the recording cuts out. I think it was rather rare for WFLD to have ending credits without a voiceover, no?

All in all, these were some fairly disappointing commercial breaks. For "Lunchtime Fun", which is supposed to be kids programming,...
