Svengoolie/Son of Svengoolie - Assorted Clips Compilation (Part 1)
Here is Part 1 of a compilation of assorted Son of Svengoolie (and in turn, the original Svengoolie) clips. I did not make this compilation - it has been floating around the trading circles for a long time, and this is the best copy I've been able to find. It has some neat clips you will not see anywhere else. It's labeled "Son of Svengoolie - 1979 to 1983 - Clips" in a crude computer generated font - again, I did not produce any of this.

Here's an incredible twofer - 1) A live voiceover promo given by Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall for the infamous Disco Demolition event that took place the following night. Little did they know what was about to occur. They talk about Lorelei and how for some reason WLUP's call letters don't make sense to them.
2) Amazingly, right after they are done talking about WLUP, Greg Pryor pops up a foul ball behind him and Harry goes after it with his trusty fishing net and catches ...
WTVO Channel 17 - "Snow Scene" (Station ID Slide, 1976)

Here's a rare Station ID and slide from WTVO Channel 17.
Voiceover by Bob Kevern.
"Bob was the weather man and did most of the booth announcing. Bob also introduced the weather window, with shots of citizens waving at the camera. Bruce Richardson anchored the news and was a wonderful person. Bob Lewis did the sports and had a loose casual style. If Ernie Banks dropped in - he was on the air. Those were good times." - Ted Schwandt

WGN Channel 9 - The Ray Rayner Show - "Clock Excerpts #1" (1971)

The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations!
Here's the good news - someone recorded The Ray Rayner Show at various times in the early seventies! Now the bad news - they only recorded the cartoons, and cut out nearly everything else. :-( I bring you the only snippets left - a few excerpts of the clock that they would show the time on, and in some cases, the chalkboard with the date, weather, and sports scores. Some might wonder why...

Here's Part 1 of the final episode of Al Lerner Sports on WSNS Channel 44. Lerner was the station's first sportscaster, and would go on to a long career with such stations as WLS Channel 7, WMAQ Channel 5, WGN Radio 720 and WSCR-AM, as well as being a wrestling announcer. Also featuring a young (and at this point, moustacheless) Tim Weigel, then a sportswriter for the now-defunct Chicago Daily News, who himself would become a familiar face on Chicago television, working for all three...
