Here is a "Technical Difficulties" moment for The "U" Channel 26 WCIU in Chicago during it's first few weeks on the air. This occured during a commercial break. At least they made it interesting. (Actually the cynical side of me says this was staged, but who knows? Is it a coincidence that the technical difficulty only lasted almost exactly 1 minute?)

Voiceover by Richard Malmos.

I used to love how Shoeshine Boy bit that coin (didn't understand why though until later).

Underdog has stayed with me till this day - I always try to remain humble and lovable. :-)

WJYS Channel 62 - Home Shopping Club (1993)

Here's some footage from WJYS Channel 62 and their Home Shopping Club. Would this also be considered a sign-on? Their doesn't seem to be any edits in the video but that's how it looks - with static, and then that Video Magic credit before it smoothly transitions into a promo. Any idea?

If anyone is clamoring for more of this footage I could post a few more parts.

Based on what the lady says in the promo near the beginning, this likely aired on local Chicago TV...

Here's a station ID from WTTW Channel 11 on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the station, featuring the Museum of Broadcast Communications and some of it's employees. I worked there for about a year back then, when they were located in the River City complex.

I remember the guy on the left in this ID was named Bernie, but I don't remember the other two names. Would anyone else out there know?

This was filmed in front of the master control where they di...
