*Note*: Peter Sellers is usually reported to have died on 7/24/80, and this is because it was after midnight in London that he died. So, these clips actually aired on 7/23/80 since Chicago is 6 hours behin...

Here's another short 10 second spot for the Oak Park Village Mall. Remember this? When they blocked off Lake Street and created an outdoor "mall" much in the way they did with State Street?

This was produced at WFLD Channel 32 during the Kaiser Broadcasting Company days, and was directed by Don Shannon. It was recorded on 6-30-76.

"...a beautiful place to shop"

This likely aired on local Chicago TV in July of 1976.

The 24 Days of Christmas - "England" with Michael Caine (1979)

Here's another installment from the recurring 24 Days of Christmas one-minute featurettes, here with Michael Caine (just a few short years away from becoming "The Hardest Working Man in Hollywood") describing the Christmas traditions in England (five years before WBBM Channel 2's Bob Wallace travelled all the way there to find them out in person). Caine starts off by invoking the names of key characters from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" before listing holiday traditions that d...

The Most Important Person - "Why Not Try?" (1972)

Here is a segment of the animated short "The Most Important Person". This one's called "Why Not Try?". (color's a bit off - there's an off-air version with slight variations and better color here)

These aired on WFLD Channel 32 and WTTW Channel 11 during the late-seventies and possibly as late as the early eighties? (And, I'm sure, on many other local stations)

WFLD Channel 32 - Stooges Rascals Hour - "Spooks!" (Ending, 1979)

(NOTE - this clip was originally broadcast in color but was recorded in Black & White)

Here is the ending for The Three Stooges short "Spooks!", followed immediately by the ending of The Stooges Rascals Hour on WFLD Channel 32. (voiceover by Dr. Don) (I don't believe there was a tape edit - I think WFLD ended "Spooks!" like this and went straight into the Stooges Rascals ending)

(The music is "Knock Knock (Who's There?)" by Spike Jones - as from his 1960...
