You guys in Chicago had an ICON in Harry Caray. He was the voice of the fan, as much Phil Rizzutto was with my Yankees (now nobody from the South Side hold it against me!). Now that the two are together up there, the rage over who started "HOLY COW!" starts again! And congrats on the article fuzz!

I am getting a whole bunch of 80's White Sox, currently transferred - no WSNS, this is from the WFLD-era, but still cool - I'll post some when I get it. :-)

Bob--remember that, before he moved to Chicago, Harry Caray was iconic in St. Louis as well, broadcasting for the Cardinals on the radio for 24 years before he got unceremoniously booted in 1969. Rumor has it, he slept with Gussie Busch's daughter-in-law (Anheuser-Busch owned the team at the time).

For those who are wondering, the White Sox beat the Brewers 6-5 in the end.

Uh, no - sorry. Can't post anything like this on YouTube. Maybe FuzzyMemories.TV will have an embed function in the future, but not right now. :-(

Thanks for working on posting more Sox broadcasts. If you could find more Channel 44 era broadcasts from the 70's, that would be a find, indeed. But I imagine those would be hard to come by. Anything with banter between Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall would really be great.
Great job with this site. You are bringing us a lot of smiles via your hard work.

Damn, those White Sox uniforms were ugly :) Cecil Cooper batting before the inning ends, his stance was unmistakable. This day was my wife's 12th birthday :)

Those Sox uniforms were just God-awful. Maybe if they said "DETROIT" instead of "CHICAGO" they'd have looked better. LOL Sorry everyone, Tiger fan here :-)

Those were the days! I miss the old lady Comiskey Park! My first ballgame I went to was when I was 6 against the Baltimore Orioles. Thanks Fuzzymemories!

And to think, Brewers - White Sox could be your World Series matchup this year, though I think the Cubs will have a lot to say about that.

WBBM "Sportsradio 78"? What's up with that?

In those days, WBBM did a lot of sports play-by-play (White Sox, Bears), so they called themselves both "Newsradio 78" and "Sportsradio 78."

This was the last season of the Bill Veeck regime as White Sox owner. Afterwards, I read that Eddie Debartolo was ready to buy the team, but MLB didn't want him. Why they didn't want him was a lot of nonsense.

Say, whatever became of Jimmy Pearsall anyway?
