Son of Svengoolie - 3-D Movie Excerpt & On-Screen ID (1982)

Here's an excerpt from the Son of Svengoolie presentation of "Revenge of the Creature" in 3-D. This was show #158. (Also includes a WFLD 32 On-screen station ID)

Some have said that this scene was the most effective at conveying 3-D. I'd have to agree - the fish swimming by in particular look like they're in the foreground even without the glasses on. :-)

This aired at around 8pm on Thursday, July 29th 1982.

    I remember you could get the 3D specs in conjunction with this airing at 7Eleven and I was so bummed there wasn't a 7Eleven in Michigan at the time.

    I remember making my dad stop at a 7Eleven just to pick up a pair of these glasses. I forgot how much they were....I think 99 cents. Anyways....a good deal no matter what.

    I just remember what a BIG DEAL this airing was -- 3D on your home TV! Everyone I knew was anticipating this for weeks, and they were invariably disappointed with the results... I had the glasses for years after. Only wish I'd kept 'em.
