White Fence Farm (Commercial, 1982)

Here's another commercial for that great old-time eatery, White Fence Farm, whose owner and founder, Robert J. Hastert, Jr., died this past Wednesday at the age of 73.

Great chicken and corn fritters, and lots of interesting knick-knacks to look at before or after dinner. I have fond memories of going here as a kid. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that won't soon be replicated. (they're still open, so go and eat there now while you can!)

Main commercial voiceover by Mal Bellairs - Long-time host at WBBM radio in the 50s and 60s. (Pricing voiceover by Ed Grennan)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, September 15th 1982.

I have never been there but have heard the chicken is fantastic. My exboyfriend Greg (an ex I split with amicably) wanted to take me there for my birthday years ago but they were closed when we got there.

Right on what used to be historic Route 66 if I am not mistaken?
I've never been there. Looks really good!

This was also a favorite place of mine as a kid. My grandparents knew the Hastert Family well. Bob and Jack Hastert in my view, are the two greatest restaurantuers ever.
