WGN Channel 9 - Bozo's Circus - "Ray Rayner Guest Hosts" (Opening, 1980)

Here's the opening for Bozo's Circus on WGN Channel 9. This was a special day since, as Ray relates the story, Frazier Thomas was up to his neck in work for Friday's live show at Chicagofest, and he asked Ray Rayner to guest host.

This episode aired 9 days before the last ever episode at 12 noon (and last live episode) aired, which was on Friday, August 8th 1980.

Also includes a WGN-TV "Last Farewell" Station ID at the beginning. (Voiceover by Merri Dee)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, July 30th 1980 at 12 noon!

    This aired on my 8th birthday. Maybe by my 78th birthday, WGN will allow me to see it on this site.

    I sent them a (nice) letter. I encourage anyone reading this who hasn't contacted WGN about Rick's efforts to share these lost clips to send a nice letter too.

    Whoops - sorry Greg, we just re-confirmed the airdate and it was actually Wednesday, July 30th 1980. (still close!) :-)
