WFLD Channel 32 - 10 O'Clock Movie - "My Little Chickadee" (Opening, 1983)

Here's an oddity - who knew WFLD had a 10pm movie at one point?

Here is the opening of the 10 O'Clock Movie presentation of "My Little Chickadee" [1940] starring Mae West and W.C. Fields, on WFLD Channel 32. (voiceover by Jim Barton)

The graphics are very similar to the type used for the WFLD "Premiere Movie".

Preceded by a WFLD Lincoln's Birthday bumper (voiceover by Jim Barton)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, February 12th 1983 at 10:00pm.

He will be missed.

Off the Wall was just one of four college-themed sitcoms that sank over the next two years, though this one was a year before Animal House. In 1979, AH ripoffs Brothers & Sisters, Delta House, and Co-Ed Fever would all bomb, with the latter lasting a whopping single episode like this stinker.

"Comedy Tonight" was adapted for a Stove Top commercial in 1986.

The 1977-78 DePaul team was led by the mighty Dave Corzine, who went pro after that season and, of course, would spend seven years with the Bulls.

I ate way too much Quaker instant oatmeal growing up. The raisins & spice was my favorite.

Good Lord, this is not the way to sell a radio station. As Fuzzy says, utterly generic, not to mention redundant ("old great classics"). What genre are they selling?? Plus, the camera is right in his face like an '80s PSA, and he sounds like he's hawking something on a street corner. I'm surprised he didn't start by saying "Psst! Hey, kid!"
