I've tried my best to make sure I have my transfers done with audio on both sides, and if there is a one-sided audio issue, I try to make sure the encoding of my video files have that issue corrected.
I am 99% successful in this regard, but I can't account for any occasion where which either side of my audio cables are either accidentally unplugged, not in tight, or just don't work at all, and having to find exactly which cable has the issue, as I have so many going both ways to/from multiple units, plus having multiple audio sources feeding to one of my computers via two switch boxes.
GHilbrich - I'll bet if we told your nine year old self, right after you were done taping, how long this recording would live on, and how many people would see it, your little head would have exploded. ;-)
Szake - You're right, of course. This is just a very early DVD transfer done on a machine with audio only plugged into one channel. I'll fix it eventually. :-) (also, I know those recent clips are one channel audio - still learning how to fix that in Premiere)
GHilbrich: When I was younger, I prided myself on how I could trim commercial breaks from tapes. I wish I let them run longer. The reason I left the comment about the one channel of audio, is many of our recordings are mono, and we can just duplicate the same audio track on both left and right so someone on headphones doesn't think they are going deaf in one ear.
