WSNS Channel 44 - Thing Theatre - "Wrestling Women Vs. The Aztec Mummy" (Bumper Excerpt, 1980)

Here's another super-rare glimpse at the Thing Theatre movie program on WSNS Channel 44 - a partial bumper, during an airing of "Wrestling Women Vs. The Aztec Mummy" - an example of one of the low budget Mexican horror films produced during the late-50s and 60s.

We can see the same logo font style as featured in the opening of the show, with a color scheme more reminiscent of WSNS' The Saturday Night Movie titles..

I wonder what the music was that was used for the bumper? We hear a little of it before it is cut off.

Noted for search attempts: It's Thing Theatre - not Thing Theater.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, August 31st 1980 during the 1pm to 3pm timeframe.

There was a time when shows in syndication had to bear different titles because the programs were still running on the networks they originated from. Anyone remember Robert Young, Family Doctor that entered syndication within the last year or two Marcus Welby, M.D. was on the ABC schedule? And so it was with Happy Days Again.

I just had a horrible dream that Marshall Field's got bought out by some big store out of New York and they changed the name and are now talking about selling off or leasing parts of the State Street store. Oh wait, that really happened.

I wish a color version of that first ad would show up. The dancing in that is the best!

Good eye. (no pun intended) I'd have to agree with you. She's a mysterious eye-patch lady I guess.

OldTime: #1: The song is a variation on "Main Title" from the soundtrack "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" from the album "Our Man In Hollywood" by Henry Mancini.

Is that gal wearing an eye patch? Nothing wrong with that, but just want to be sure I'm not seeing things!
