When hearing his trademark into, I always think, "Hold it, Frazier, I'm not quite ready yet!"

The way the logo does a sort of flip-wipe onto the screen is tacky, IMO. Someone obviously wanted to show off their new digital effects.

Was there a Broadway musical in the mid 1970's called Shenandoah which was based on this film and novel?

This has been credited as one of the longest running ads ever in American Television History. I remember seeing it so many times that the orchestral harp and bust [whom I believe is Beethoven] became well-remembered images. It also was where I first heard of Tchaikovsky's and Grieg's names [and I confess that I mis-remembered the 2nd featured work as 'Full Moon & Eight Empty Arms', that's a love song for a octopus ;) ]

I thought there was another Chicago TV late movie show that also used "Take Five" as well. Often I think of the Late Movie and Chicago jazz clubs when I here "Take Five" [although it was recorded in NYC]

What ever happened to the fuzzy-memories version of this ad with the gunfire at the end?

I had wanted one of these computers since I had the Colecovision. After all the huge problems the ADAM had, I am glad I never did.

I remember seeing this ad several times just before I turned 5 [I was in Homewood IL at the time]. This was a surprise seeing this ad again!

David H: If you look at an ad from the same campaign a year earlier http://www.fuzzymemories.tv/index.php?c=1467 , the numbers do NOT start with 555, but 888, 8 and 7.

Interesting that when you see the closeups of the phone and the hands pressing the buttons, they always start with 555- , the default phone number choice used for all phone numbers on TV shows from this era.

Yes, indeed - it's from a Umatic. :-)

I'm not sure if it's been said before, this must've come from a U-Matic tape.
