Looks like they told him to remove the shiny tie clip during the first commercial break.

I also have one on vinyl and one on 8-Track. This was the first Kenny Rogers album to be released by Liberty Records after Capitol-EMI Records took over United Artists Records. Now Capitol-EMI Records is part of the Universal Music Group (UMG).

It's pretty obvious Willie is lip-syncing, and I doubt Dinah's band was playing behind him. But then, you knew that...

Benny Goodman grew up in Chicago; Wikipedia says around Maxwell Street.

I have three copies of this one. Two on 8-Track. You should not be surprised.

Added ending voiceover info (hearing this at a remote FedEx Office location, the voice at the end clearly sounded like Mr. Reynolds, and besides, a YouTuber who saw this clip on that site, name of Ryan Zwolinski [to whom the hat tip], apprised us of this).

AMNews and SMC; One of Inn and Around's incarnations was also a club called the Grand Bandstand around 1984 or so. On Sunday evenings, it was open to all ages for a few hours (I'm guessing between 5-10pm) and didn't serve alcohol during that time frame. I went there a few times when I was a youngster.

I'm curious - from which of the Chicago TV stations were these Starbeat ads produced? I'm sure RCA TK-27/28 film chains were used for the slide transmission . . .

Fuzzy: I wish you found another Kenny Rogers mail order record album TV commercial from the same early 1980's time for the 2 record set "Gold Dust and Gold Mine" featuring songs from the Kenny Rogers First Edition era.

$50,000 a day? lol No, that's $50,000 a year for the next 20 years until 2002 for a total of $1 Million.
