Kaiser Broadcasting Company (ID #2, 1977)

Here's a different Kaiser Broadcasting ID than the one we just saw - this one is a few months older and by this time they had upgraded to an animated one. Same music and voiceover though.

We can probably assume that the exact same ID would air on WFLD during this period.

"KBC - The Kaiser Broadcasting Company"

This aired on local Detroit TV on Sunday, June 19th 1977 at 7pm! (not Chicago TV, but still cool)

Would this have been done by Dolphin, or by Image West? It certainly seems to have the hallmarks of being done with Scanimate. . . .

KBC,I heard of that.I like their original recipe better than the extra crispy.lol!!!

KBC was used sometime later,on cable,as it was the name of a Korean-based channel that was aired here.I could be wrong.

It was called KCT in the late 80s.

SoxOnTV44: You're right. KBC is the Korean Broadcasting Company and airs on analog channel 41 in Chicago.

Vividly remembered seeing this on WKBD about this time in '77.

And I was 4 at the time.

Within a few months, they slowly brought in the Field look.

For some reason, I liked the Kaiser look over the Field one; however, they brushed up on the look of the station in '79-'80 and i felt it looked presentable by then.

Thanks to "hardlines4" on YouTube, we now know the name and composer of the piece of music used as the theme to Movie Greats heard here!

It is the theme from the 1965 movie "36 Hours" - "A Heart Must Learn to Cry" and it is performed here by Marty Gold and his Orchestra.

Here's a link to download the full track:

PVX: I was a master control operator in the 1990s and 2000s, and the ISCI codes were 4 letters and 4 numbers. An Ad Council public service announcement started with the letter C and three letters for the campaign, the digits would start with the year the spot was created, the revision or version number, and the last 2 digits being the length of the ad, so a 30 second Smokey the Bear Forest Fire Prevention PSA from 1999 would have been CNFF-9130.
