I remember seeing the host of "Chicago Week in Review" (can't remember his name--Joel something) walking into town from Union Station. I'd've struck up a conversation, but it was a typical Chicago winter day (i.e. colder than Kelsey's you-know-what) and all I could think of was getting inside. That was a really good show. Is it still on the air?

Any "Image Union" clips out there?

Ro - Joel Weisman is his name. :-)

I have some Image Union clips here - do a search for it. I should post more though.

Thanks, Fuzzy! It actually came to me later. I'll check for "Image Union" clips; that show was classic.

Anyone know when they began using that particular logo?

Meaning the 11.

Ok, problem's fixed. You may need to refresh your browser or clear your cache to see the new video. Also, strangely, there seems to be an interruption in the McDonald's commercial at about the 00:03:05 mark, but it seems like some real problem with the film at the TV station at that point.

Yes, Gary was an avid model railroader. Other celebrities who enjoyed that pastime were Tom Synder, Frank Sinatra and Frazier Thomas!

Dth - Thanks, looks like an encoding error - I'll fix it. And thanks for the actress info.

The Great Conductor McDonald's commercial is only 1/2 way cut leading into the Crispy Wheats 'n Raisins commercial.

Also: In the Crispy Wheats 'n Raisins commercial, the actress playing the Dorothy character is Geri Rechisi, who was best known for playing the replacement Jan Brady (replacing Eve Plumb) on the 1977 "The Brady Bunch Hour" variety show.

Somehow, I always knew back in my mind that CF aired well after 1976. Now, if someone has recordings of the short-lived live host airings of CF, that would be a 24 karat platinum find! But, from what I understand, that would be as likely as finding a recording of the first ever Tonight Show With Johnny Carson. With this clip, however, I would have to say that in all of the years of visiting vintage TV sites, you have the best research team ever! A job well done would not even begin to cover it! Epic!

In the '60's they were just "Sugar Pops." That was back in the day when the Hanna-Barbera cartoons were on the box. The only one I remember, unfortunately, is Quick Draw McGraw on the box of Sugar Smacks, now called Honey Smacks, though I haven't seen them in a while. They were 56% sugar...
